    B&T’s Story

It all started with a flat bicycle tire.

    Tiffany says

    Interview time

“It was 2014 and I had just moved from New York City to California. My only transportation at the time was a bicycle. When the inevitable “flat tire day” came, I wheeled my bike to the nearest shop, The Bicycle Works. Brett was working there. I had no idea that the mechanic I met that day would become my closest confidant, adventure buddy, cheerleader and lifetime partner.

    Brett says

“When Tiffany came in, I tried to teach her how to fix the flat. When that failed I knew I had to mess with her, and flipped her wheel from single speed to fixed. I had no idea that I would become her personal mechanic.”

And, in case you’re wondering, Tiffany still can’t change a bicycle tire on her own.

    Where’s your registry?

We don’t have one! After 11 years together we pretty much have everything we need, maybe even too much of everything.

But if you feel so inclined, we would very much appreciate a donation to our Honeymoon Fund. We’ll be heading somewhere warm and sunny in 2027.

Venmo is easiest for us. But we are happy to take a contribution via check, cash or carrier pigeon.

Public Transportation: We have TriMet. Some people love it, some people hate it. There’s a bus stop not far from our home.

Hotels: We have a discounted room block at the Marriott in Southeast Portland/Clackamas. You must book by Wednesday, July 22 to get the discount. Other options nearby include Hyatt House Downtown and Jupiter Hotel in the Central Eastside.

B&T’s favorite places to eat and drink in Portland: Our favorite pizza spot is Ranch PDX, ice cream is a toss up between Cloud City and Salt & Straw, bakery/pie spot is a no brainer: Loretta Jean’s and the best dive is probably Slim’s but we also like Lay Low.

B&T’s favorite things to do/see nearby: Ride bicycles and hop on a Pedalpalooza ride! PDX has great bicycle infrastructure, the city is mostly flat and we have bikes to share, and a Bike Share. You can also: take a tour of the city via the Willamette River, have a Beach Day on the Columbia or hike a scenic waterfall loop in the Gorge.
